LEADERSHIP
CRAIG BRINKMAN
principal
Craig has been involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of St. Thomas.  Prior to joining Real Estate Equities, Craig practiced public accounting in the Twin Cities where several of his clients were real estate companies, including Real Estate Equities.  At Real Estate Equities Development, Craig is responsible for all accounting, treasury and MIS functions; corporate and investor communications; financing and tax compliance issues; and property and asset management.
ANDREW SCHAEFER

Andrew has been involved in the real estate and construction industry for more than 20 years. He is a 1998 Graduate of the University of North Dakota with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Prior to his employment with Real Estate Equities Development, he worked six years with Community Contractors, a general contracting firm, and several years for US Home Corporation (now Lennar). At Real Estate Equities Development, Andrew is responsible for project administration, management of the construction process, overall project marketing, market feasibility and financial analysis.
SHANE WRIGHT

Shane has worked in the real estate development industry for over 15 years. He is a 1999 Graduate of Texas Tech University with a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance. Prior to his employment with Real Estate Equities Development, he worked for Jeffrey E. Smith Development in Columbia, MO developing affordable multi-family projects throughout Missouri that included both new construction and historic rehabilitation. Shane leads the land acquisition and sales and marketing teams at REE Development with a core focus on the management and growth of these divisions. Additionally, Shane works with the executive team on strategic planning, financial analysis and execution of the development processes.
CORPORATE TEAM
Keith jans
founder
Keith has been involved in the real estate industry for over 35 years. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in housing. Keith’s past experience includes working in the public sector, the senior housing industry as a municipal finance advisor, and as a development consultant. At Real Estate Equities Development, Keith is responsible for acquiring and developing projects; conducting feasibility due diligence, structuring project financings, arranging partnership and institutional investments; structuring fee arrangements and ownership participations; managing the development process; and asset management.
Kathy Kippley
Human Resources director
Kathy has over 16 years of experience in the field of Human Resource Management and has worked in a variety of industries. She holds undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Psychology and received her MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of St. Thomas in 2004. In her prior role, Kathy was the Director of Human Resources for a large telecommunications company for seven years. At Real Estate Equities Development, Kathy is responsible for managing all of the organization’s human resource functions.
STEVE VON SCHMIDT
MARKETING AND CREATIVE director
Steve brings over 20 years of experience in strategic marketing and creative tactical implementation. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, he led some of the most successful direct marketing companies in the country serving the senior lifestyle and hobby markets. His work has been showcased in a variety of marketing channels including magazines and websites such as Smithsonian, National Geographic, VFW and American Legion. Steve directs and manages all marketing and advertising campaigns including online initiatives and provides marketing and creative services support to REE Development sales management.
STEVE JAHNKE
SALES director
Steve has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, national accounts, vendor management and customer service. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development in 2011, Steve was involved in the residential real estate market since 1996 where he specialized in sales of single family homes, new construction and land. He is responsible for the sales activities with the Village Cooperative senior housing division of REE Development. Additional oversight includes leadership and training of the Village Cooperative sales managers.
JIM MARTIN
SALES director
Jim brings over 30 years of experience in sales, sales management, marketing and operations. He is a graduate of Saint Johns University with a BS degree in social science and education. Jim’s past experience includes real estate and financial services. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, he held senior sales management positions at a leading direct marketer. Jim is responsible for the sales activities and growth within the Village Cooperative senior housing division of REE Development where he also provides sales management, mentorship and training of the Village Cooperative sales managers.
Erin McCarty
SALES director
Erin has been serving older adults for 15 years in many capacities from health and wellness to social engagement and finally sales and marketing. Prior to joining the Real Estate Equities Development in 2017, Erin marketed Memory Care and served on several charitable organizations serving older adults. She specializes in counseling older adults helping them determine what needs they have and what products will serve them best.  Erin has a passion for service and community.  She has been responsible for the sales and member service for the Village Cooperative of Lakewood project.
STEVE MILLER
Land Development Manager
Steve has over 22 years of experience in development and construction. His construction projects have taken place across the country, and his vast construction experience includes building hotels, large shopping centers, multi-family complexes, office buildings, restaurants, a University renovation and memory care communities. Prior to diving into the development and construction world, Steve was a proud member of the United States Air Force for over ten years in numerous locations across the globe. At REE Development, Steve is responsible for site acquisition, jurisdictional coordination, due-diligence, public hearings, and overall project coordination.
JOE MOOSBRUGGER
PROJECT MANAGER
Joe joined the Real Estate Equities Development team in 2017. He is a 2000 Graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Joe brings more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, both from a design standpoint and contracting services. At REE Development, Joe is responsible for construction oversight, design review, project administration and navigation of municipal requirements.
Marty McCarthy
PROJECT MANAGER
Marty has over 20 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors of the real estate development industry. He is an experienced developer with a Master of Science (M.S.) focused in Real Estate from University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business. Marty is skilled in the areas of senior housing, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, capital markets, and sustainable development/construction practice. At REE Development, Marty is responsible for municipal approvals, project design coordination, owner coordination and construction management.
BRIAN SCOTT
PROJECT MANAGER
Brian has over 20 years of experience in the real estate development industry.  His construction and development experience has been focused across retail, commercial, office and multifamily.  In addition to being a licensed Class B general contractor, Brian earned his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Colorado in 2004.  He has extensive experience as a contractor and as a developer on large multifamily projects.  At REE Development, Brian is responsible for project entitlements, design, and construction management.

Vennessa has worked in the real estate industry for over 15 years. She is a 1999 graduate of Brown College with a degree in Visual Communications. At Real Estate Equities Development, she is responsible for coordinating projects through the various phases of the development process as well as providing support to the development team.
DEB JENSEN
ACCOUNTANT
Deb has worked as an Accountant for over 25 years. She is a 1989 graduate of University of Wisconsin - River Falls, majoring in Accounting. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, she worked for an equipment manufacturing company for 20 years. Deb’s responsibilities at REE Development include maintaining and preparing accounting records for corporate and cooperative entities as well as other day-to-day accounting functions. Deb also serves as office manager.
MARK MILLARD
COntroller
Mark brings over 25 years of experience in Accounting and Finance leadership roles across a variety of industries. He is a 1990 graduate from Alton College, England. At Real Estate Equities Development, Mark is responsible for a variety of Accounting functions including ensuring that all corporate financial statements are completed timely and accurately, developing and implementing Accounting best practices, and overseeing cash management.
JAKE WRENN
DATA ANALYST
Jake is a data analyst, computer programmer and creative writer. He holds a BS in Business Management from Purdue University, with a concentration in strategy, and he also holds a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Roosevelt University. Jake’s prior experience includes a senior analyst position at a distribution firm, specializing in demand forecasting, acquisition due diligence and metrics reporting. At Real Estate Equities Development, Jake is responsible for market analysis, feasibility studies and strategic research.
Wendy Huggins
Property Management director
Wendy brings over 15 years of property management experience. She has worked with multi-family, student housing and HOA management. Wendy’s objective at Real Estate Equities Development includes providing leadership and oversight to the Village Cooperatives across
the country. Some of her key responsibilities will be managing and mentoring staff as well as working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
TIM ANDERS
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Tim has 12 years of experience in the real estate industry, and over 10 years working with volunteer boards. He is a 1995 graduate of Augsburg College with a degree in Business Finance and a minor in Economics. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, he worked with Northern Star Council, BSA gaining experience working with volunteers and has been a member of several volunteer boards. Tim’s responsibilities at REE Development are working with staff and the Board of Directors at the Village Cooperatives located across the Midwest.
TRACY SMITH
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Tracy Smith has over 17 years of property management experience. She has worked in the areas of multi-family, tax credit, HUD and student housing. Tracy’s responsibilities at Real Estate Equities Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in the Iowa area. Her main focus will be managing onsite staff and working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
LEIA BUSH
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Leia has over 18 years of property management experience. She has worked in the areas of multi-family, tax credit and HUD. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, she was the Board Secretary for the Bella Vista Property Owners Association. Leia’s responsibilities at REE Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in Kansas and Missouri. Her main focus will be managing onsite staff and working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
Bevia byrne
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Bevia has contributed to the Real Estate Equities Development team since 2016 with many years of previous experience in team management as well as sales and marketing in the senior market. Bevia is originally from Nebraska, but has been a resident of Colorado for 15 years since attending college. She is the newest member of our Regional Property Management team as she transitions from her Sales Management role for the Village Cooperative of Greeley project that is nearly sold out. Her responsibilities at REE Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in Colorado where she will manage onsite staff and working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
Evan Brinkman
Assistant Project Manager
Evan joined the Real Estate Equities Development team in 2018. He is a 2018 Graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a BS in Business Administration with a focus in Real Estate. Evan has worked part time at REE Development in various capacities during college and had an internship with the company President during the summer of 2017. In his current role at REE Development, Evan is responsible for assisting in construction oversight, design review, project administration and navigation of municipal requirements.

Jill Davis
Sales Manager
Jill has over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing. Her experience includes 20 years in cosmetic sales as well as running her own business coaching business. Jill’s service background includes working with military families for 25 years as well as serving her local community through many diverse ways. She is a native of Colorado Springs and is passionate about the concept of cooperative housing as a way to make a difference in the quality of life for seniors. Jill is responsible for managing the Village Cooperative of Briargate project.
Felicia-Rae Peterson
Sales Manager
Felicia has over 18 years of experience in sales, marketing, national and regional accounts, customer service and rebuilding territories. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development in 2016, Felicia was involved in regional accounts within the oil and gas market in which she covered over 350 accounts in an 11 state region. She is responsible for the sales, customer relations and marketing for the Village Cooperative of Centennial project.
Lisa doudy
Sales Manager
Lisa has worked in real estate sales and investments for 10 years with additional experience in customer service management. She graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Lisa is a Grand Junction native and thrilled to be serving the community again in her role as manager for our Grand Junction project.
Bevia Byrne
SALES MANAGER
Bevia joined the Real Estate Equities Development team in 2016 with several years of experience in sales and marketing serving the senior market. She also has many years of experience in team management and was a top performer in outside sales. Bevia is originally from Nebraska, but has been a resident of Colorado for 15 years since attending college.  She is currently responsible for managing the Village Cooperative of Greeley project after completing the Village Cooperative of Fort Collins project.
DORIS SARVER
SALES MANAGER
Doris has been with Real Estate Equities Development since 2016. She has worked for 20 years in sales and marketing with her focus on customer service. She also brings 10 years of property management experience specializing in new developments. As a marketer for a senior living community, Doris developed a passion for working with seniors. She is currently the sales manager of the Village Cooperative of Lawrence project after completing the Village Cooperative of Verona Hills (KC, MO) and Village Cooperative of the Northland (KC, MO) projects.
KATE GRANT
SALES MANAGER
Kate Grant has over 30 years of sales, marketing and consumer relations experience that was developed through creating, owning and operating multiple businesses in diverse industries. Kate has a background in marketing and customer service and is an award-winning published author. Her skills as a certified transformational coach help create, facilitate and establish long-lasting customer relationships.  Kate will put these skills to good use as the Sales Manager at the Village Cooperative of Loveland.
NANCY SCHNEIDER
SALES MANAGER
Nancy has devoted her career to sales, customer service and business management. She earned a BS in Merchandising from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Before joining Real Estate Equities Development in 2013, she spent 16 years in the wholesale liquor industry as an award-winning sales representative of fine wine and spirits in territories across Kansas and Iowa. More recently, Nancy was the sales manager for two completed Village Cooperative projects in Shawnee and Lenexa. She now is responsible for sales management of the Village Cooperative of Olathe project.
Jamie Gregory
SALES MANAGER
Jamie has been in sales, marketing and development for more than 30 years. A proud graduate of Washington State University and an active community member, Jamie has helped bring a new hospital to Puyallup and the first continuing care retirement community to East Pierce County. He was instrumental in securing Puyallup’s designation as Washington’s first “Age-friendly City.” Jamie has served as a Washington State Fair Rodeo Wrangler and Rotary Area Governor and he is currently responsible for the Village Cooperative of Puyallup project.
JANIS CHURCHILL

Janis has over 25 years of sales and management experience in the Puget Sound. Her experience also includes business development, marketing and customer service, where she specialized in luxury leasing in the multi-family industry. Janis was born and raised in the great PNW and brings her passion for seniors and the community as Sales Manager for the Village Cooperative of South Sound project and through her charitable volunteer work.
