LEADERSHIP
CRAIG BRINKMAN
principal
Craig is a Principal of Real Estate Equities Development and has been involved in real estate finance for more than 25 years. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. degree in Business Administration, with an accounting emphasis. Following graduation, he worked in public accounting for nine years at two regional CPA firms in the Twin Cities, with a substantial emphasis on businesses in the real estate industry.  At REE Development, Craig focuses on overall financial performance, financial reporting, corporate strategic and tactical financial initiatives, corporate and investor communications, and oversees all lender relationships and financing activities.  He also oversees the Company’s property management, human resources, IT, legal and insurance departments.
ANDREW SCHAEFER
principal
Andrew has been involved in the real estate and construction industry for more than 20 years. He is a 1998 Graduate of the University of North Dakota with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Prior to his employment with Real Estate Equities Development, he worked six years with Community Contractors, a general contracting firm, and several years for US Home Corporation (now Lennar). At Real Estate Equities Development, Andrew is responsible for project administration, management of the construction process, overall project marketing, market feasibility and financial analysis.
SHANE WRIGHT
principal
Shane has worked in the real estate development industry for over 15 years. He is a 1999 Graduate of Texas Tech University with a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance. Prior to his employment with Real Estate Equities Development, he worked for Jeffrey E. Smith Development in Columbia, MO developing affordable multi-family projects throughout Missouri that included both new construction and historic rehabilitation. Shane leads the land acquisition and sales and marketing teams at REE Development with a core focus on the management and growth of these divisions. Additionally, Shane works with the executive team on strategic planning, financial analysis and execution of the development processes.

Keith jans

Keith has been involved in the real estate industry for over 35 years. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in housing. Keith’s past experience includes working in the public sector, the senior housing industry as a municipal finance advisor, and as a development consultant within multiple disciplines in the industry.

Kathy Kippley
Human Resources director
Kathy has over 16 years of experience in the field of Human Resource Management and has worked in a variety of industries. She holds undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Psychology and received her MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of St. Thomas in 2004. In her prior role, Kathy was the Director of Human Resources for a large telecommunications company for seven years. At Real Estate Equities Development, Kathy is responsible for managing all of the organization’s human resource functions.
Kristin Jutting
Talent Acquisition Specialist
Kristin has 8  years of Talent Acquisition and Human Resource experience working in Senior living Memory Care and Medical Device sales industry. She studied Human Resources Management at Rasmussen College and earned her HR Generalist Certification from the University of Minnesota.  She joined Real Estate Equities Development in March of 2022 and is responsible for supporting our business units and working closely with managers and Human Resources to develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract, screen, and select high-quality candidates to achieve our staffing objectives.
STEVE VON SCHMIDT
MARKETING AND CREATIVE director
Steve brings over 20 years of experience in strategic marketing and creative tactical implementation. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, he led some of the most successful direct marketing companies in the country serving the senior lifestyle and hobby markets. His work has been showcased in a variety of marketing channels including magazines and websites such as Smithsonian, National Geographic, VFW and American Legion. Steve directs and manages all marketing and advertising campaigns including online initiatives and provides marketing and creative services support to REE Development sales management.
STEVE JAHNKE
SALES director
Steve has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, national accounts, vendor management and customer service. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development in 2011, Steve was involved in the residential real estate market since 1996 where he specialized in sales of single family homes, new construction and land. He is responsible for the sales activities with the Village Cooperative senior housing division of REE Development. Additional oversight includes leadership and training of the Village Cooperative sales managers.

SALES director
Doris has been with Real Estate Equities Development since 2016. She has worked for 20 years in sales and marketing with her focus on customer service. She also brings 10 years of property management experience specializing in new developments. As a marketer for a senior living community, Doris developed a passion for working with seniors. After being responsible for the completion of projects in Verona Hills (KC, MO), the Northland (KC, MO), Lawrence, KS and Olathe, KS, she now serves as Sales Director for our midwest region.
Felicia-Rae Peterson
Sales Director
Felicia has over 18 years of experience in sales, marketing, national and regional accounts, customer service and rebuilding territories. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development in 2016, Felicia was involved in regional accounts within the oil and gas market in which she covered over 350 accounts in an 11 state region. She was responsible for the sales and customer relations for the Village Cooperative projects in Centennial and Littleton, CO before becoming a Sales Director for REED.
Marvin Wensman
Land Development Manager
Marvin is a 2013 Graduate of the Carlson School of Management – University of MN, with a BS in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management. Prior to his employment with Real Estate Equities Development, Marvin worked with a few different Minnesota-based commercial real estate firms, gaining experience in acquisitions, brokerage, and development on a national level. Marvin is responsible for pursuing and acquiring land, along with launching the development process in new and existing markets.
JOE MOOSBRUGGER
PROJECT MANAGER
Joe joined the Real Estate Equities Development team in 2017. He is a 2000 Graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Joe brings more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, both from a design standpoint and contracting services. At REE Development, Joe is responsible for construction oversight, design review, project administration and navigation of municipal requirements.
Austin Allen
PROJECT MANAGER
Austin has over 25 years of development experience in both civil engineering and real estate development. His career has varied between commercial and multi-family developments across the country. He graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Business Administration and a focus in Real Estate. Austin serves as a Project Manager for REE Development and is responsible for the entitlements, design review, project administration and construction oversight.
Spencer Harold
assistant PROJECT MANAGER
Spencer joined the Real Estate Equities Development team in 2020. He is a 2015 Graduate of University of North Florida with a BBA in Finance with a real estate emphasis. Spencer brings with him 4 years of construction experience as a general contractor, managing multiple simultaneous projects in both commercial and residential. At REE Development, Spencer is responsible for assisting in construction oversight, design review, project administration and navigation of municipal requirements.
Evan Brinkman
Assistant Project Manager
Evan joined the Real Estate Equities Development team in 2018. He is a 2018 Graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a BS in Business Administration with a focus in Real Estate. Evan has worked part time at REE Development in various capacities during college and had an internship with the company President during the summer of 2017. In his current role at REE Development, Evan is responsible for assisting in construction oversight, design review, project administration and navigation of municipal requirements.

Vennessa has worked in the real estate industry for over 15 years. She is a 1999 graduate of Brown College with a degree in Visual Communications. At Real Estate Equities Development, she is responsible for coordinating projects through the various phases of the development process as well as providing support to the development team.
MARK MILLARD
COntroller
Mark brings over 25 years of experience in Accounting and Finance leadership roles across a variety of industries. He is a 1990 graduate from Alton College, England. At Real Estate Equities Development, Mark is responsible for a variety of Accounting functions including ensuring that all corporate financial statements are completed timely and accurately, developing and implementing Accounting best practices, and overseeing cash management.
DEB JENSEN
ACCOUNTANT
Deb has worked as an Accountant for over 25 years. She is a 1989 graduate of University of Wisconsin - River Falls, majoring in Accounting. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, she worked for an equipment manufacturing company for 20 years. Deb’s responsibilities at REE Development include maintaining and preparing accounting records for corporate and cooperative entities as well as other day-to-day accounting functions.

Accounting & Human Resources Assistant
Melissa has over 20 years of experience in the Property Management Industry and has worked at several multi-site properties throughout the Twin Cities. She studied two years Human Resources Management at DeVry University. Over her career, Melissa has taken on many responsibilities in the industry from being a Caretaker to a Property Manager. She joined Real Estate Equities Development in 2022 and currently serves as the company’s Accounting/HR Assistant.
Wendy Huggins
Property Management director
Wendy brings over 15 years of property management experience. She has worked with multi-family, student housing and HOA management. Wendy’s objective at Real Estate Equities Development includes providing leadership and oversight to the Village Cooperatives across the country. Some of her key responsibilities will be managing and mentoring staff as well as working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
TIM ANDERS
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Tim has 12 years of experience in the real estate industry, and over 10 years working with volunteer boards. He is a 1995 graduate of Augsburg College with a degree in Business Finance and a minor in Economics. Prior to joining Real Estate Equities Development, he worked with Northern Star Council, BSA gaining experience working with volunteers and has been a member of several volunteer boards. Tim’s responsibilities at REE Development are working with staff and the Board of Directors at the Village Cooperatives located across the Midwest.
TRACY SMITH
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Tracy Smith has over 17 years of property management experience. She has worked in the areas of multi-family, tax credit, HUD and student housing. Tracy’s responsibilities at Real Estate Equities Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in the Iowa area. Her main focus will be managing onsite staff and working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
Alexis Anderson
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Alexis has over 7 years of property management experience working primarily with affordable and tax credit senior housing. Alexis graduated from Park University with her Bachelor's in Business Administration with a minor in Leadership. Her responsibilities within Real Estate Equities Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in the Kansas City area.
Sue Herzog
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Sue has over 25 years of management experience working primarily with senior communities.  She has a passion for working with seniors and serving her community.  Sue’s main responsibilities at Real Estate Equities Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in the Colorado area. Her main focus will be managing onsite staff and working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Directors to ensure the smooth operation of each.
Mary Beth Gammel
REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER
Mary Beth Gammel has over 15 years of property management experience and has worked in the areas of multi-family and tax credit properties.  Mary Beth’s responsibilities at Real Estate Equities Development include working with and providing oversight to the Village Cooperatives in Colorado.  Her main focus will be managing on-site staff and working with each Village Cooperative’s Board of Director.

Kate has over 30 years of sales, marketing and consumer relations experience that was developed through creating, owning and operating multiple businesses in diverse industries. Kate has a background in marketing and customer service and is an award-winning published author. Her skills as a certified transformational coach help create, facilitate and establish long-lasting customer relationships.  Kate put these skills to good use as the Sales Manager at the Village Cooperatives in Loveland (CO), Puyallup (WA) and has now become the Sales Manager of the Village Cooperative of Allen.
Shelley Grav
Sales Manager
With over 24 years of experience in residential new home sales, Shelley’s focus has been on starting up new home communities in the Twin Cities area and providing great customer service. Shelley’s background before real estate was in retail sales where she owned and operated small boutique-style shoppes. Shelley successfully sold out the Village Cooperative of Sioux Falls community and is excited to bring the Village Cooperative home ownership model to active adults in Broomfield.
Dawn Anderson
Sales Manager
Dawn has 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry in the areas of sales, marketing, and customer service.  It is her time volunteering with seniors that led her to the Village Cooperative.  Her sincerity and empathy for people transitioning into the next chapter of their lives, coupled with an unrelenting passion to serve others creates a bond with her clients that is strong and enduring.  Dawn loves to hike in the desert and spend time with her family.  Most of all she loves Texas y’all.
Natasha Bruner
Site Coordinator
Natasha has over 10 years of experience in customer service, administrative work, and property management. She has worked in a variety of industries, but found her passion managing a senior community in Grand Junction, Colorado. She loves to read, write, and spend time with her dogs exploring the Western Slope.

She is proud to have been the founding Financial Counselor who developed the financial counseling/literacy program on seven college campuses throughout King County, Washington where she partnered with United Way Benefits Hub. She has volunteered on three non-profit boards and enjoys volunteering within the communities that she lives and works in. Janet  has managed our Village Cooperative of South Sound project and is now responsible for our Fargo project.

Lisa has worked in real estate sales and investments for 10 years with additional experience in customer service management. She graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Lisa is a Grand Junction native and thrilled to be serving the community again in her role as manager for our Grand Junction project.
Kara Bellina
Sales Manager
Kara has over 10 years of experience in sales, marketing and real estate and brings her passion for building authentic client relationships as our sales manager in Overland Park, KS. She has worked in a variety of industries, most recently in real estate and with the aging population in hearing care. Kara is a 2009 graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia where she earned her degree in Finance and Banking with an emphasis in Economics. She started her career selling fine wine, and loves helping people grow their businesses, reach goals, and take their next steps in life!
